Softball Game Preview: Lee Wildcats vs. Westfield Technical Academy Tigers

The Lee Wildcats will face off against the Westfield Technical Academy Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Lee took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Smith Vo-Tech get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Brianna Lynch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lee let Juliana Schuerer and Kayla Clark run wild. Schuerer got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while Clark went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Samantha Warner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Westfield Technical Academy lost 14-2 to Lenox Memorial on Monday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Millionaires recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Westfield Technical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lee, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Lee took their victory against Westfield Technical Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
