Basketball Recap: Islands Takes a Loss

Islands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 60-44 bruising from the Savannah Country Day Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Hornets are ranked 118th).

Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Savannah Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Islands and Bridges Prep will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bridges Prep has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 219 points over their last three games. As for Savannah Country Day, they will face off against Holly Hill Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Savannah Country Day's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
