Saint James waltzed into their match on Monday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Prattville Lions. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 6-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Emily Needham spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lily Stanford and Ava Stanford did most of the damage at the plate: Lily went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Ava went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Ava is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Arden Green, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Saint James' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 43-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Prattville, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.
