Soccer Game Preview: Poinciana vs. St. Cloud

Poinciana hasn't had much luck against St. Cloud recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Poinciana Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Cloud Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Poinciana will be strutting in after a win while St. Cloud will be coming in after a loss.

Poinciana will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal back in December of 2024, then bounced right back against Liberty on Thursday. Poinciana blew past Liberty 4-1. The score was close at the half, but the Eagles pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, St. Cloud was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Harmony. Considering the last time the Bulldogs couldn't score was back in November of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

The victory made it two in a row for Poinciana and bumps their season record up to 4-8-1. As for St. Cloud, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Poinciana suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to St. Cloud when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Poinciana avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
