Baseball Recap: Millbrook Starts off Right with Win over Cary

Millbrook took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Cary Imps. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Hayden Heath was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Finn Clougherty was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Millbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cary only posted an OBP of .250.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cary, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Panther Creek at 6:00 p.m.
