Basketball Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears vs. Economedes Jaguars
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 60-38 to the Economedes Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-42 back in January.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Pangelinan, who posted five points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hernandez, who scored 11 points.
Economedes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesse Medrano led the charge by putting up 11 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Medrano a new career-high. Aniel Solis was another key player, earning eight points along with eight boards and three blocks.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's loss dropped their record down to 10-25. As for Economedes, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-18.
