Baseball Recap: Fort Hill Has No Trouble Against Mountain Ridge

Fort Hill had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Mountain Ridge on Saturday. Fort Hill blew past Mountain Ridge 9-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sentinels also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Carson Bender made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Bobby Brauer was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Jake Rice was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Fort Hill's record now sits at 2-0.

Fort Hill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-0 defeat against Northern Garrett on the 25th. As for Mountain Ridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Southern on the 24th.
