Preview: Tulpehocken Trojans vs. Oley Valley Lynx
The Tulpehocken Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Oley Valley Lynx at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tulpehocken has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
Tulpehocken suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 64-25 defeat at the hands of Fleetwood. While losing is never fun, Tulpehocken can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 737th, while Fleetwood is ranked 158th).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Oley Valley, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-29 loss to Schuylkill Valley on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oley Valley has scored all season.
Tulpehocken bumped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Oley Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Tulpehocken took a serious blow against Oley Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 70-34. Can Tulpehocken avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
