Sterling and West Deptford are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Silver Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sterling came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Haddon Township by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The Silver Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, West Deptford was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Gloucester City by a score of 4-1.

Jordyn Ambrosius spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Macey Harrold, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

West Deptford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The last time their batting average was this high was in their last nine contests.

Sterling now has a losing record of 7-8. As for West Deptford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Sterling suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to West Deptford in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Silver Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
