Baseball Game Preview: Red River Bulldogs vs. Byrd Yellow Jackets

Red River fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Buckeye on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-4. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Eli Murphy was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Byrd came into Saturday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Evangel Christian Academy 13-4 on Saturday.

Byrd's victory bumped their record up to 7-13-1. As for Red River, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5-1.
