Basketball Recap: Heath Find Success

There's no place like home for Heath, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 39-38 victory over the Northridge Vikings. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Leading Heath to victory were Peyton Del Cecato and Kailyn Holmberg. Del Cecato almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds, while Holmberg went 7 of 12 on her way to 19 points and six rebounds.

Northridge lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ava Travis, who posted 15 points along with six steals and five boards. That's the most steals Travis has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Cora Hill, who had seven points and three steals.

Heath's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Northridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Heath didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-39 defeat against Utica on the 6th. As for Northridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-30 victory against Lakewood on the 6th.
