Football Game Preview: Eureka Loggers vs. St. Bernard's Crusaders

The Eureka Loggers will face off against the St. Bernard's Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eureka has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight losses, while St. Bernard's will come in with seven straight victories.

On Saturday, Eureka had to suffer through a 52-15 loss at the hands of Fortuna.

Meanwhile, St. Bernard's got themselves on the board against Del Norte on Friday, but Del Norte never followed suit. They strolled past the Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 16-0. Those 16 points were actually the fewest the Crusaders have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

A big part of St. Bernard's win came down to the chemistry between Trenten Hagler and his top target Kuron Devlin. Hagler threw for 140 yards and one touchdown while Devlin picked up 66 receiving yards and one score.incredibly, Devlin got all that yardage with just one huge grab

St. Bernard's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB eight times. Kohlton Hall led the group effort, picking up four of those sacks all by himself. Those four sacks set a new season-high mark for him.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All those points came courtesy of Tyler Hinrichs: he added nine points with three field goals and another on an extra-point kick.

Eureka's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for St. Bernard's, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Eureka took a serious blow against St. Bernard's when the teams last played on October 4th, falling 43-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hagler, who threw for 174 yards and three TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards.
