Volleyball Recap: Plainview Bears vs. Madison Academy Mustangs

If Plainview was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Kate Duncan Smith DAR on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell just short of the Madison Academy Mustangs by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Plainview actually scored more points across those three sets (58-56), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Faith Odom paced Plainview's offense, picking up 15 kills. Odom got some help from Jada Gray and her 18 assists. Finally, Sagan Jackson kept Plainview's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Plainview has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-6 record this season. As for Madison Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Coincidentally, Plainview and Madison Academy will both be playing Ardmore the next time they take the court. The Bears will host the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
