Softball Preview: Racine Case Eagles vs. Franklin Sabers
Racine Case is 1-9 against Franklin since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eagles will face off against the Sabers at 4:30 p.m.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Racine Case and Kenosha Tremper had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles fell 8-4 to the Trojans on Tuesday.
McKynna Szymandera was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Franklin waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 15-8 victory. The Sabers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.
Franklin's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Racine Case, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Racine Case suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Franklin in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
