Volleyball Recap: Oakville Comes Up Short

Oakville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the St. Pius X Lancers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Oakville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19.

Nate Czuppon paced Oakville's offense, picking up 19 kills. Czuppon got some help from Chase Bentrup and his 36 assists. Carson Hulsey controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Oakville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for St. Pius X, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Oakville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Lafayette on the 5th. As for St. Pius X, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Parkway South on the 5th.
