Softball Recap: Astoria Fishermen vs. Stayton Eagles

Astoria proved they can win big on Friday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Stayton Eagles 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Fishermen have posted since May 6, 2024.

Kya Lindell was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Lyla Carlson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Lindell wasn't the only one making solid contact: Astoria kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
