Louisville has gone a perfect 3-0 against Ripley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Ripley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Louisville, who comes in off a win.
Ripley will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Louisville extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Wildcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Greenwood 37-6. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 31 points or more this season.
Trey Tippett had a dynamite game, picking up 106 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 95 yards. Another player making a difference was Triston Edwards, who threw for 206 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes.
Louisville's run defense was locked in: Greenwood could only muster 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Ayden Coleman for the heroic effort on defense: he. Louisville didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.9.
Louisville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Amilliyun Foster, Kobe Gladney, and Tippett picked up one apiece. Foster got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Ripley played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Senatobia, falling 35-7. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Warriors are ranked 41st).
This is the second loss in a row for Ripley and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Louisville, their record now sits at 7-2.
Everything came up roses for Louisville against Ripley when the teams last played back in November of 2022, as the team secured a 35-0 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
