Basketball Recap: Loogootee Takes a Loss

Loogootee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Northeast Dubois Jeeps, falling 46-22. The Lions were probably out for revenge after losing 40-36 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Loogootee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alaina Diamond posted seven points and ten boards.

Emmersen Kalb continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northeast Dubois, going 8 of 18 en route to 21 points. The matchup was Kalb's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyllee Schnell, who scored six points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Loogootee's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Northeast Dubois, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Loogootee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-18 victory against Crothersville on the 25th. Northeast Dubois has also already played their next match, a 47-28 win against Perry Central on the 25th.
