Basketball Game Preview: Cathedral Academy Generals vs. Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles

The Cathedral Academy Generals will take on the Pee Dee Academy Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cathedral Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight losses, while Pee Dee Academy will come in with three straight victories.

Last Monday, Cathedral Academy came up short against Patrick Henry Academy and fell 52-41. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Patriots are ranked 111th).

Cathedral Academy might have lost, but man, Madison Jackson was a machine: she posted 26 points. Those 26 points gave Jackson a new career-high. Raven Williams was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Pee Dee Academy strolled past Williamsburg Academy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 30-15.

Cathedral Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Pee Dee Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Cathedral Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pee Dee Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory.
