Basketball Recap: Maine West Takes a Loss

Maine West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 58-41 to the Maine East Blue Demons. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Demons earlier this season, when they won 29-28.

Maine East found their leader in sophomore Arabella Silva, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine assists. The game was Silva's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Erviana Porter-Smith, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Maine West's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Maine East, they pushed their record up to 9-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Maine West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 48-18 loss against Downers Grove South on the 18th. As for Maine East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-48 defeat against Lake Forest Academy on the 18th.
