Softball Recap: Triton Central Wins Going Away Against Warren Central

Triton Central's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 24-8 margin over the Warren Central Warriors. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Lillian Fillippinie made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fillippinie was even better at the plate, going 3-for-6 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Triton Central got a massive performance out of Jalynn Keith, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. What's more, Keith posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Olivia Schaadt, who scored four runs while going 2-for-4.

Triton Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren Central only posted an OBP of .414.

The victory got Triton Central back to even at 1-1. As for Warren Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Triton Central will challenge Tri-West Hendricks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Warren Central, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-9 win against Bethesda Christian on the 10th.
