Baseball Game Preview: Sidney Yellowjackets vs. West Carrollton Pirates

For the second straight game, Sidney will face off against West Carrollton. The Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Sidney took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over West Carrollton. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Yellowjackets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

For West Carrollton's part, Matt Havens was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That run was Havens' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joey Madsen, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

West Carrollton dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Sidney, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
