It's playoff time, and Andrean had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wheeler Bearcats a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Fighting 59ers as they're now sitting on three straight.
The result came thanks to Sadie Drousias's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn Hite, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Dani Poskin, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Andrean's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Wheeler, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.
