Basketball Game Preview: Houlton Shiretowners vs. Foxcroft Academy Ponies

Houlton and Foxcroft Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Houlton Shiretowners are taking a road trip to square off against the Foxcroft Academy Ponies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Saturday, Houlton ended up a good deal behind Ellsworth and lost 61-47. The game marked the Shiretowners' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Foxcroft Academy waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 victory over the Golden Bucks.

Houlton dropped their record down to 5-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Foxcroft Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Houlton came up short against Foxcroft Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 49-45. Can Houlton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
