Softball Game Preview: Northgate Flames vs. Brentwood Spartans

The Northgate Flames will take on the Brentwood Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Northgate is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Apollo Ridge just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 14-1 to the Vikings. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Flames couldn't push the score so high this time.

Northgate saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Auth, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Brentwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Apollo Ridge, falling 15-1. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Carma Coberly made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Northgate's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Brentwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
