Recap: Dunedin Falcons vs. Gulf Buccaneers

The Dunedin Falcons suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Gulf 65-16. Dunedin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-9.

Dunedin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trinity Clincy, who scored five points along with four steals. Clincy hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Anna Patterson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 rebounds.

Gulf's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brenniyah Hall, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals. Hall is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zaedah Ford, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.

Dunedin has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Gulf, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Dunedin will head out on the road to square off against Clearwater Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clearwater Central Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Gulf, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Nature Coast Tech is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
