Basketball Recap: St. Pauls Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

St. Pauls extended their road winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Zhari Shipman. Everything went the St. Pauls Bulldogs' way against the Red Springs Red Devils on Thursday as the St. Pauls Bulldogs made off with a 58-38 victory thanks in part to Shipman, who went 10 for 16 on her way to 24 points and five assists. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played.

Ava Monroe also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season. What's more, she also racked up 14 points, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

Defeat or not, Red Springs got some senior leadership from Nakira Hunt and Monica Washington. Hunt posted 11 points, while Washington almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Adrianna Locklear was another key player, putting up five points.

St. Pauls is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Red Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.

St. Pauls wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-51 loss against Fairmont on the 17th. Red Springs has also already played their next contest, a 56-36 defeat against Clinton on the 17th.
