Basketball Recap: Hunters Lane Takes a Loss

Hunters Lane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by the Hillsboro Burros 84-24. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-9 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Hunters Lane saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alayla Owens went 8 for 18 en route to 17 points.

Hunters Lane's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Hillsboro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Hunters Lane and Hillsboro's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Hunters Lane will square off against McGavock at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a squad that's only allowed 26.81 points per game. Meanwhile, Hillsboro and Overton (who has only given up 26.12 points per game) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
