Westfield faced Greenfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bombers never let the Green Wave get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Considering the Bombers have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the fourth in a row for Westfield, bringing their record up to 10-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Greenfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westfield will host Wachusett Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Bombers have won four straight at home, while the Mountaineers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Greenfield, they will welcome Agawam at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Brownies have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
