Preview: Aloha Warriors vs. Sunset Apollos
Aloha has been on the road for nine straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Sunset Apollos at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Aloha will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Sunset is ranked 83rd).
Aloha suffered their biggest defeat since December 17, 2023 on Saturday. Their rough 48-24 loss to Westview might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Aloha has suffered against Westview since February 21, 2020.
Even though Sunset has not done well against Mountainside recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Sunset took down Mountainside 52-33. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sunset.
Aloha's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Sunset, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Aloha was dealt a bruising 56-19 loss at the hands of Sunset in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Aloha avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
