Basketball Game Preview: Swainsboro Tigers vs. Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines

Having just played yesterday, the Swainsboro Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Swainsboro is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

On Friday, Swainsboro lost to Savannah Christian at home by a 53-39 margin.

Meanwhile, Woodville-Tompkins suffered their closest loss since February 21, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Vidalia by a score of 61-58. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Indians are ranked 95th).

Woodville-Tompkins' defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Swainsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Swainsboro was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodville-Tompkins when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 56-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Swainsboro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
