Basketball Recap: Hathaway Brown's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Hathaway Brown came into Saturday's matchup having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Hawken Hawks on Saturday as the Hathaway Brown Blazers made off with a 48-28 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Blazers have posted since February 3, 2024.

Hathaway Brown had a senior duo take command as Emily Morgan dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 steals and Jane Kennedy dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kennedy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Caroline Morgan, who posted three points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Hathaway Brown was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hawken only posted five assists.

Hawken lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sarah Liu, who had six points along with six boards and five steals. Cami Courtad was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Hathaway Brown's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Hawken, they dropped their record down to 0-15 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Hathaway Brown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-42 defeat against Field on the 27th. As for Hawken, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-32 loss against Cardinal on the 29th.
