Softball Recap: Davenport West Comes Up Short

After flying high against Washington on Friday, Davenport West came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jesup J-Hawks on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2023.

This is the second loss in a row for Davenport West and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Jesup, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Davenport West didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against Clear Creek-Amana on the 7th. As for Jesup, they have also already played their next match, a 9-0 defeat against Western Dubuque on the 7th.
