Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Panthers vs. Jefferson Patriots

For the second straight game, Hillcrest will face off against Jefferson. The Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Hillcrest took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Jefferson get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.

Yoarlin Rodriguez was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jean Pierre Paternina was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 18-9-1. As for Jefferson, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
