Volleyball Recap: Olathe East Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Olathe East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Olathe South Falcons. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Olathe East started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-8.

Leading Olathe South to victory were Kinley Legleiter and Rissie Evans. Legleiter had 16 digs and two aces, while Evans had 19 assists and 16 digs. Those 19 assists gave Evans a new career-high.

Olathe East's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Olathe South, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-12.

Olathe East has already played their next contest (against Olathe Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Olathe South, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Olathe West on the 20th.
