Volleyball Recap: Shullsburg Takes a Loss

After flying high against Benton on Thursday, Shullsburg came back down to earth. The Miners fell 2-0 to the Pecatonica Vikings on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Miners of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Adaline Woodworth paced Shullsburg's offense, picking up seven kills. Woodworth got some help from Kallie Timmerman and her 14 assists. Hailey Alt controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Shullsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Shullsburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Juda on the 30th. As for Pecatonica, they will face off against Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Vikings their first taste of in-conference action this season.
