Soccer Game Preview: Island vs. Waimea

Island is 8-0-2 against Waimea since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Island will be playing at home against the Waimea Menehunes at 7:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, 2025 welcomed Island with a 6-2 loss courtesy of Kauai. Island has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Waimea can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. Neither they nor Kapa'a could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result was nothing new for the Menehunes as the squad has yet to pick up a win this season.

Waimea's draw gives them a new season record of 0-4-2. As for Island, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Everything went Island's way against Waimea when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Island made off with a 5-0 victory. Will Island repeat their success, or does Waimea have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
