Football Recap: Hewitt-Trussville Starts off Right with Win over JAG + How To Watch

Hewitt-Trussville took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the JAG Jaguars to the tune of 54-0. The Huskies pushed the score to 48-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars had no chance of recovering from.

Hewitt-Trussville can attribute much of their success to Zach Benedict, who threw for 163 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 8-for-8 passing. Those 163 passing yards gave Benedict a new career-high. Christopher Cj Davis was another key player, gaining 59 total yards and two touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hewitt-Trussville will head out to take on Gadsden City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for JAG, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carver Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
