The Rushville-Industry Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Mendon Unity Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rushville-Industry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Rushville-Industry's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed back in March. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Illini West. The win continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.
Italee Ford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Ford was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Devin Vogler was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Joaney Flowers was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Rushville-Industry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Mendon Unity was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They lost 16-0 to Barry Western. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost seven in a row.
Mendon Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Rushville-Industry, their record now sits at 4-1.
Rushville-Industry's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Rockets have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mendon Unity, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Rushville-Industry continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Rushville-Industry's way against Mendon Unity in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Rushville-Industry made off with a 19-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
