Basketball Game Preview: Shadow Hills Knights vs. Palm Springs Indians

The Shadow Hills Knights will head out to challenge the Palm Springs Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Shadow Hills took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Xavier Prep 69-31. The contest marked the Knights' most dominant win of the season.

Shadow Hills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nate Williams, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Ivan Acosta, who had 13 points.

Meanwhile, Palm Springs posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024 on Wednesday. They breezed by La Quinta to the tune of 57-30. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 775th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palm Springs' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Shadow Hills, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9.

Things could have been worse for Shadow Hills, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Palm Springs when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Shadow Hills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
