Baseball Recap: Plainville Takes a Loss

Plainville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs, falling 16-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-5 on Thursday.

Plainville's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Sylvan-Lucas, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Coming up, Plainville will head out on the road to challenge Thomas More Prep-Marian on Tuesday. The Monarchs will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they will welcome Ellis at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Railroaders have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season.
