Soccer Game Preview: Glenvar vs. Nelson County

The Glenvar Highlanders will challenge the Nelson County Governors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenvar knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Nelson County likes a good challenge.

Glenvar is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Auburn with a sharp 4-0 win. Glenvar haven't had any issues with Auburn recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Nelson County was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1.

Glenvar's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Nelson County, their win bumped their record up to 18-0.

Glenvar got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2022 against Nelson County by a conclusive 5-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
