Basketball Game Preview: Salem Generals vs. Corinth Riverhawks

The Salem Generals are taking a road trip to challenge the Corinth Riverhawks at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Salem is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Hartford Central on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Salem came up short against Hartford Central, falling 61-37. The Generals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Corinth over Warrensburg in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Corinth blew past Warrensburg 49-23. The Riverhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season.

Corinth is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Salem, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Salem took a serious blow against Corinth when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 65-31. Can Salem avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
