Basketball Game Preview: Wyomissing Spartans vs. Reading Red KNights

The Wyomissing Spartans will square off against the Reading Red KNights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wyomissing is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

On Saturday, everything went Wyomissing's way against Oley Valley as Wyomissing made off with a 58-33 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Reading strolled past Conrad Weiser with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 44-28. The Red KNights haven't had any issues with the Scouts recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Wyomissing pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points over those games. As for Reading, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Wyomissing beat Reading 46-36 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wyomissing since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
