Warrior is known for his impeccable ability to read quarterbacks and make either pass deflections, interceptions or come up for big hits.
After months of surveying the college football landscape, Warrior made his announcement Wednesday in front of local media and a live stream supplied by MaxPreps via TheCube.com.
Quarterbacks rarely threw in the direction of Warrior, who had three interceptions and 30 tackles this season for the 8-4 Lions. He's considered the No. 4 safety in the country and No. 58 recruit overall, according to
247Sports.
Most figured Tennessee would be his selection considering his dad, former NFL Pro Bowler Dale Carter, attended Tennessee.
Warrior, a 6-foot, 186-pound senior, had 162 career tackles over three high school seasons and 34 games. He added nine interceptions 11 pass deflections and four fumble recoveries.
