Carlsbad came tearing into Tuesday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Hobbs Eagles get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Considering the Cavemen/Cavegirls have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carlsbad's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hobbs, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-17.

Carlsbad will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
