Volleyball Recap: Menomonee Falls Comes Up Short

Menomonee Falls lost against Mukwonago last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Phoenix fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1. While the Phoenix didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 25-19 in the first set.

Menomonee Falls started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Daniel Poulakos paced Menomonee Falls' offense, picking up 12 kills. Poulakos got some help from Ben Kuhn and his 17 assists. Sam Barkimer controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Menomonee Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Mukwonago, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Menomonee Falls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Oak Creek on the 27th. As for Mukwonago, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Brookfield Central on the 27th.
