Volleyball Game Preview: Morro Bay Pirates vs. Righetti Warriors

The Morro Bay Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Righetti Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Morro Bay saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Salle. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Righetti unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Nipomo. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since May 7, 2024.

While Righetti was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Nipomo's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-18, 25-20.

Morro Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 14-21. As for Righetti, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-12.

Morro Bay was able to grind out a solid victory over Righetti in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 3-1. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
