Recap: Churchill Chargers vs. Reagan Rattlers

The Churchill Chargers lost against the Reagan Rattlers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Churchill was outmatched by Reagan on the road and fell 68-39. While losing is never fun, Churchill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while Reagan is ranked 137th).

Aidan Richard was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds for Reagan. Richard has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last 13 times he's played. Kenneth Manuel was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Churchill and nudges their season record down to 13-17. As for Reagan, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Churchill will square off against Marshall at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Marshall is coming into the game with ten straight losses at home, meaning Churchill will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Reagan, they will head out on the road to challenge SA Roosevelt at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Reagan is facing SA Roosevelt at the right time seeing as SA Roosevelt is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
