League recap: Cary scores huge upset over Athens Drive

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Cary, who took down 132nd ranked Athens Drive, 9-7. Marquise Sherrod-Ponds ran for 194 yards in the win.

Middle Creek extended the longest winning streak in 4A Tri-Nine this week by beating Apex, 61-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

Chris Tutwiler put up the best numbers through the air as Green Hope defeated Panther Creek. He finished with a total of 15 completions for 81 yards and one touchdown. Tutwiler's favorite target this week was Dylan Hartigan, who caught two passes for 25 yards.

Henry Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as the Jaguars lost to the Imps. Smith racked up three receptions for 99 yards. Jamie Barnes helped Athens Drive's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.

The Falcons' Tutwiler and Mitchell Chalker have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Tutwiler has thrown for 2016 yards this season, while Chalker, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 48 catches for 528 yards. Dominique Lynch from Athens Drive leads the league in rushing with 1479 yards.

A big matchup in 4A Tri-Nine this week will be when Fuquay-Varina takes on Green Hope. At the moment, the Bengals are in third, while Kwame Dixon's team is in fourth.

Middle Creek took down the Cougars 61-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
